Performers

Castapp is a digital audition platform where you can create a free profile. You can apply for published theatre auditions with just one click, and your profile will be shared with the theatres. The entire casting and selection process takes place digitally and online. You have unlimited storage to upload videos and audio samples. Theatres can view your profile at any time. If you are invited to an audition, you can schedule, reschedule, or cancel your audition appointment directly via Castapp. Many major providers in musical theatre, live entertainment, and cruise lines use Castapp, allowing you to apply to multiple employers with just one profile.

In addition to the mandatory information, you can select various fields to showcase your artistic skills and performance background. You must upload at least one professional profile picture (headshot), provide details about your education and previous engagements. If you are still in training, you can also create a profile from your second year of study onwards. At least one uploaded video is also required, such as a singing sample, acting reel, or dance performance to present your artistic abilities.

No, Castapp is completely free for performers. The participating theatres cover the costs.

You apply easily with just one click. Theatres publish their audition calls, and you can submit your application with a single click.

All theatres with an active subscription on Castapp can view your profile and your uploaded videos. You can find an overview of participating theatres on our homepage.

Agencies

The previous agency account was closed on April 28, 2025, and replaced by a function where performers can automatically forward system emails to their agency via CC. This decision followed an extended period of discussions with various agencies and clients about the future of agency accounts on Castapp, and is based on feedback from leading agencies and their clients.

No, this is no longer possible. Only the individual client can access and update their profile.

Clients can specify in their profiles whether they are represented by an agency. If so, they can provide the agency's name and contact information such as phone number and email. All system emails sent to the client will also be automatically CC'd to the provided agency email address.

You no longer apply on behalf of your clients through the platform. Your clients now apply independently using the one-click application feature.

As before, you recommend your clients through direct communication with casting directors and producers — via email, phone call, or in-person conversation. Contact details are available in each audition notice.

Once a client adds your email address as their agency contact in their profile, you will receive all system emails such as invitations, appointment confirmations, cancellations, and changes automatically via CC.

The emails include information about the client's name, production title, application status, submitted material, and scheduled appointments, making it easy for you to distinguish between different auditions and productions.

You will receive notifications for successful applications, invitations, information dispatch, material dispatch, appointment scheduling, appointment changes, and appointment cancellations.

No, this happens automatically as soon as a performer enters your email address as their agency contact in their profile.

If your client disables email notifications for themselves, you will still continue to receive all relevant system emails in CC to ensure you don’t miss any important updates.

Yes, you can arrange with your clients to use a central email address to receive all CC emails.

You can subscribe to our Castapp Audition Newsletter. As soon as a new audition is published, you will receive the call and all relevant information by email.
