The Castapp App Is Here

There are questions you hear once. And there are questions you hear at every opportunity. "When is the app coming?" was by far the most frequent question performers have asked us over the past few years. In emails, in conversations, after auditions, in feedback forms. Over and over again. Today we can finally say: It's here. The Castapp app for iOS is now available in the Apple AppStore. Free. For all Castapp users. Simply search for "castapp.pro" and download it.

Why This App Took So Long

We could have released the app sooner. With fewer features, as a stripped-down version, as a simple audition browser. We didn't want that. If we're going to release an app, it has to offer the full range of features. No compromises. And that's exactly what we did.

Everything You Know From the Browser

The app is not a reduced mobile product. It offers everything you already know from the browser version. Edit your profile, browse auditions, submit applications, manage appointments, upload videos and audio files -- everything works just like on desktop. The difference: You now have Castapp with you at all times. Whether between two rehearsals, on the way to an audition, or on the couch in the evening. Your next casting is just a tap away.

Push Notifications: The Real Highlight

What truly sets the app apart from the browser version is push notifications. You receive important information directly on your iPhone -- in real time, without having to open the app. You decide what you want to be notified about. Each notification can be individually enabled or disabled, separately for email and push. You can find the settings in your profile under "Notifications". The following push notifications are available to you:

Auditions

New Audition Published -- Find out immediately when a new audition goes live on Castapp. No more daily logging in and checking. The audition comes to you. Application Sent -- Receive confirmation that your application was successfully submitted. So you can be sure everything arrived. Audition Status -- Get notified when you receive an audition invitation, a rejection, or when additional information is available for you. This is probably the most important notification of all. No more refreshing, no more constant checking. You'll know immediately.

Appointments

Appointment Confirmed -- When you select an audition appointment, you'll receive confirmation of your choice. Appointment Changed -- If you reschedule your appointment to a different date, you'll receive confirmation of the change. Appointment Cancelled -- When you cancel an appointment, you'll receive confirmation. Appointment Received -- When a production assigns you an audition appointment directly, you'll be notified immediately.

Why This App Means So Much to Us

Castapp was built for the performing arts industry from day one. By people who know this industry. We know what the daily life of performers looks like. Rehearsals in the morning, shows in the evening, travel in between. And somewhere amidst all of that, you're supposed to take care of your career too. Searching for auditions, writing applications, coordinating appointments. Until now, that was only possible on a laptop or through the mobile browser. That was okay. But it wasn't good enough. A native app was therefore never just a feature on a roadmap to be checked off someday. It was the most requested wish from our users. The one thing we were asked about most frequently. For years. That we can finally make it available now means an enormous amount to us. It's the result of months of intensive development, countless rounds of testing, and an unwavering commitment to not deliver a half-finished product. We listened to you. And we deliver.

Android Is Coming in Early March

If you use an Android device: The good news first. The Android app is fully developed and thoroughly tested. It's ready to go. The less good news: Google recently introduced new guidelines for developer accounts. New apps must go through a 14-day testing phase in the Google Play Store before they can be made publicly available. This is a requirement from Google that we have no control over. We are currently in this process. The app is expected to appear in the Google Play Store in early March 2026. As soon as it's live, we'll let you know through our blog and on Instagram.
