Sound familiar?

You've applied for three castings, one deadline expires tomorrow, two auditions are coming up next week – and somewhere in between you've got rehearsals. Welcome to the perfectly normal performer chaos. That's exactly what the Castapp Calendar is for.

You'll find it in the left sidebar under "Calendar". What you see: a classic monthly view with everything that's currently relevant to you.

The three colors

So you don't lose track, each type of appointment has its own color.

Light blue shows application deadlines. In other words: How long do you still have to apply for a specific casting? You see the production name and location – for example "ROMEO & JULIET – Berlin". One click takes you straight to the listing. If the deadline is still open, you can apply right from there.

Green marks your confirmed audition dates. Here you'll see when and where you're supposed to audition – including your start time, if already assigned. A click takes you to the appointment page where you can check or change your slot.

Red marks blocked dates – you enter these yourself. Anything you're not available for: rehearsals, engagements, vacation, whatever. You can add a title, dates, and optionally times. And if something changes: just click on it, edit, or delete.

Creating a new blocked date

Top right there's a blue "+" button. Click it, enter a title, set the time period, done. You can optionally add times as well. That's all there is to it.

The best part: the conflict warning

And here's the real highlight. When you've entered blocked dates and apply for a casting, Castapp automatically checks if there's a conflict. If the audition falls within a period you've marked as blocked, you get a heads-up right in the application window.

Sounds like a small thing – but it's not. Let's be honest: we've all overlooked a scheduling conflict before. And then you're stuck with two appointments on the same day and have to improvise. The calendar takes care of that for you. You see the conflict before you click "Apply" and can decide at your own pace.

In short

The calendar isn't a complicated tool. It does one thing, and it does it well: show you what's coming up and warn you when things overlap. Especially when casting season gets hectic, that's worth its weight in gold.
